Spectral Decay is back with their flagship show – and this time, it’s a heavy metal party for the ages!

Spectral Decay 5 will mark the grand 25th anniversary of India’s heavy metal legends KRYPTOS!!! Come celebrate two and half decades of Kryptos’ thunderous existence on Planet Earth as they continue to carve their name in the pages of subcontinental metal history! There will be denim, leather, and most importantly – beer!

Spectral Decay 5 will also witness Bangalore stoner rock icons BEVAR SEA returning to the stage after a year; local heavy metal heroes ILLUCIA fresh off the release of their new album; and thrash metal maniacs SPEEDTRIP on the cusp of the release of their new album, returning to the stage in the city after a gap of 4 years with a brand new sound!

Heavy/thrash metal from Bangalore

Kryptos was formed in 1998 in Bangalore, India, and has long been considered one of the spearheads of the Indian heavy metal revolution. With six critically acclaimed albums under their belt, they have supported some of metal’s biggest names like Iron Maiden, Testament, Kreator, Exodus, Sacred Reich, Death Angel, and many more, earning themselves a reputation as a fiery and exciting live act.

Kryptos has performed at some of the biggest metal festivals in the world, including a double appearance at Wacken Open Air, and is currently signed to AFM Records, Germany.

In recent times, Kryptos set out on a massively successful double-legged European tour in 2022 that covered 35 gigs over 10 countries and followed that up with another hugely successful European tour in the summer of 2023, as they made their way across Europe for a series of headlining club dates and major festival appearances.

In September 2023, the band will hit the 25-year milestone and are all set to mark two and a half decades of heavy metal with a brand-new album and multiple European club and festival appearances in 2024.

At Spectral Decay 5, Kryptos will play a special set to mark the 25th anniversary with some special guest appearances, lots of denim, leather, spikes, and most importantly, beer!

FFO: Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Accept, Coroner, Kreator, Thin Lizzy

Stoner/doom from Bangalore

Five years after releasing their sophomore album ‘Invoke the Bizarre’, Bangalore’s Bevar Sea used the Covid-imposed lockdown as an opportunity to regroup and work on the third album titled ‘The Timeless Zone.’ With the backdrop of the lyrics portraying a tryst with the consciousness of man, storying into travels and visions within the self, the music over the course of the album pays homage to the glory years of the 70s and 80s hard rock and metal with the typical rifftastic stoner/doom sound the band has embraced on the two albums prior to this.

Fans can expect a proper Bevar Sea set at Spectral Decay 5 with songs both new and old. It’ll rock and it’ll doom a little.

FFO: Black Sabbath, Trouble, Cathedral, Spiritual Beggars

Heavy metal from Bangalore

Illucia is a Bangalore-based traditional heavy metal band formed in 2014. The band draws inspiration from heavy metal titans such as Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Dio, etc., and has released an EP, a full-length album, and two singles. In 2019, Illucia released their debut EP “111,” which garnered critical acclaim from fans and critics alike. The EP was later signed to Heart of Steel Records, an Italian record label for digital promotions. Between playing shows and writing new music, the band released a single titled “Dreamtime Observers” in 2020, which remains one of their most anthemic tracks to date.

July 2022 saw the release of the band’s debut full-length album titled “A New Reign.” The album received positive reviews all around the world, with many praising its strong and energetic 1980s feel. With memorable performances at Dead By Dawn (Kolkata), Spectral Decay (Bangalore), and Southern Slaughter (Kochi), Illucia solidified their position as a rising force in the Indian heavy metal scene. In July 2023, the band released their official music video for the song Hellucination, taken from their debut album ‘A New Reign’ and are currently working on putting together a tour to promote the album.

Brace yourselves as Illucia is all set to unleash the heavy metal fury from their debut album “A New Reign” with songs that will be performed for the very first time at Spectral Decay 5.

FFO: Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Dio, Saxon, Accept

Thrash metal from Bangalore – Album launch show

Born in the heart of Bangalore, India, Speedtrip is a relentless and untamed force in the world of independent thrash metal. Their journey ignited with the release of their debut full-length album, “Trapped in a Maze,” in 2017, and since then, the band has undergone a metamorphic evolution, emerging stronger, fiercer, and more electrifying. With a killer new logo that embodies their sonic onslaught, the band has delved into new lyrical realms, exploring the depths of human experience with unapologetic honesty. But it’s their guitar riffs that steal the spotlight, now more intense and incendiary than ever before, igniting a sonic blaze that consumes all in its path. Hold onto your senses, for Speedtrip is in the throes of crafting their eagerly awaited second album. This forthcoming opus promises an explosive collection of tracks, a symphony of sonic chaos that will captivate and consume the unwary. Amidst a sea of imitation and passing trends, Speedtrip stands as a towering monument of authenticity and originality. Prepare to be engulfed in a maelstrom of metal that defies convention and shatters expectations, as Speedtrip propels you into an auditory tempest like no other.

Prepare for an electrifying metal odyssey as Speedtrip unleashes the sonic storm of their highly anticipated second album played in its entirety at Spectral Decay 5!
